Bow equipment fishing, a sport that is getting more popular, has a fishing method that uses a special kind of archery equipment. Your main goal is to shoot and collect the fish. In bow equipment fishing, you may choose from among three types of bow reels – the hand-wrap, retriever and the spincast. The hand-wrap bow reel is the simplest of all reels. It consists of a spool in which your line is wrapped into manually and is made secured in a line-holding slot. Once the bowfishing arrow is shot, the line is released from the line holder and is feed out of the spool. Fish caught are fought hard by pulling the bow line in one hand over the other. Hand-wrap reels are seldom used as it is the least effective. However, they may be utilized together with a floating system to shoot and catch big trophy fish.

Although you bow equipment fish from the beach or shore, most bowfishers often shoot from boats. Bowfishing boats are specifically customized for the sport. It has a high-level shooting platform and equipment with a generator to provide electricity for lights if you do bowfishing during nighttime. The motor and fan at the stern of the boat are likewise mounted on a higher position.
